For first-timers
Nervous? Good. It means you care.
Nobody is born knowing how to drive. Our instructors have taught thousands of people who were sure they'd never get it — and watched them pass.
We go at your speed, explain everything before we ask you to do it, and never raise our voices. The car has dual controls, so you're safe from the very first minute.
What your first lesson looks like
- We pick you up and drive to a quiet road
- A walk-around of the car and the controls
- Moving off and stopping — nothing more
- A chat about how it went and what's next
- An honest estimate of the lessons you'll need

FAQ
Questions learners (and parents) ask
Something else on your mind? Ask when you book — we're happy to talk it through.
I'm really nervous. Is that normal?
Completely. Most of our learners are nervous at first. Your first lesson starts somewhere quiet, goes at your pace, and you won't be asked to do anything you're not ready for.
How many lessons will I need?
It depends on you, not a formula. After your first lesson your instructor will give you an honest estimate and update it as you progress.
Do you pick me up?
Yes. Lessons start and finish at home, school, college or work — wherever suits you within our area.
Should I learn in a manual or an automatic?
Automatic is quicker to learn and great if you'll only ever drive automatics. Manual gives you a licence for both. We'll talk it through with you.
Can I use your car for my test?
Yes. Most learners take their test in the car they learned in, with a warm-up lesson just before.
When should I start the theory?
Straight away. Theory and practical lessons reinforce each other, and the online course means you can revise on your phone between lessons.
